FLINT (WKZO) -- It was a story that generated a lot of negative attention. Now, the Hurley Medical Center in Flint has settled a racial discrimination suit brought by a nurse after she was told that ho African Americans would be permitted to care for the child of a man with nazi tattoos, because that's what he demanded.
Tonya Battle filed the suit after a note appeared on the child's chart stating that no African American staff was to care for the child.
The hospital denied the allegation earlier this week in a statement saying the father "was informed that his request could not be granted", and suggesting that they were frightened for the safety of their staff.
Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
