COVERT TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- The Control Room Operators at the Palisades Nuclear Plant has begun to slowly bring the reactor back into service after plugging a leak in a cooling water heat exchanger that took about 6 days to complete.
They flipped the switch at about 12:44 Friday morning and it will take several days to bring the plant back up to full operation, according to spokesman Mark Savage.
They also replaced a damaged switch in the plant’s main switchyard while they were down for service.
