GREEN OAK (WKZO) -- A man suspected of trying to break into a home in Green Oak Township is dead after being shot by a Michigan State Police trooper.
Authorities were called to Bishop Road Monday afternoon after a man said he saw someone trying to break into his neighbor's home. A Green Oak Township police officer and an MSP trooper responding to the call spotted the suspect's vehicle and were led on a chase to another residence within the township.
According to a release by the MSP, the suspect was shot and killed when he confronted the officers with a gun. The trooper has been placed on administrative leave as the incident remains under investigation.
