DETROIT (WKZO) -- The mystery of who is behind the demolition of a ten-square block of blighted area in Detroit is solved. Wednesday night during his State of the City address, Detroit Mayor Dave Bing cleared away the shroud by announcing a public-private partnership with builder Bill Pulte.
The mayor says more than 80-percent of the debris from the demolition is being recycled. He also said that Pulte is reseeding the site to keep the weeds away.
The mayor says, "the elimination of blight gives Detroit Edison students a safer route to school. And it means a cleaner and safer neighborhood."
