LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan lawmakers from both parties are joining together to try to find money to dredge Michigan's harbors, as Lakes Michigan and Huron are at historic low levels.
One option under consideration is pulling money out of state government's "Rainy Day" fund, which has grown to over 500-million dollars under Governor Snyder. He wants legislators to come up with over 20-million to pay for dredging.
Senator John Proos of St. Joseph says other options include allocating money from taxes collected by businesses in harbors gets put toward dredging.
