DETROIT (WKZO) -- A group that includes Lansing native Earvin "Magic" Johnson is in negotiations to develop the vacant Michigan State Fairgrounds site in Detroit.
Thursday, the Michigan Land Bank Fast Track Authority agreed to begin talks with Magic Plus LLC for a 500-thousand-square-foot mixed use project that could include a movie theater, restaurants, townhouses and a senior living complex. In addition to Johnson, the group includes Lansing businessman Joel Ferguson and Marvin Beatty from Detroit.
