After releasing a double concept album and a comic book series based on his House of Gold & Bones short story, Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor tells ABC News Radio that he’s zeroing in on the approach he wants to take for a full-length feature film inspired by the record.
“Me and [guitarist] Josh [ Rand ] have been talking about how we can make it righteous to the music and to the story, but at the same time make it something that…takes it up another notch,” he tells ABC News Radio. “We’re looking at like certain choices and we’re getting pretty close. Hopefully in the next three or four months we’ll break some ground on that and I’ll have you know even bigger news to talk about.”
Taylor adds that he has one idea in mind for the upcoming flick: he’d like it to be similar to the 1981 fantasy-animated film Heavy Metal . “The more we think about it, the more we might want to do it, like, as an animated movie, but at the same time do it almost like the Heavy Metal movie where you have one long story,” he reveals. “You give certain illustrators three or four songs and then a chunk of the story, and make sure that it fits in with the music and whatnot.”
