Detroit spends nearly 13-million dollars on bankruptcy

DETROIT (WKZO) -- The City of Detroit has reportedly spent close to 13-million dollars so far on bankruptcy fees.

According to data obtained by “The Detroit News,” the city has spent 12.8-million dollars on lawyers and other professionals working to restructure the city’s finances.  There are reportedly eleven firms working for Detroit to help with the bankruptcy process.

Experts predict that the city’s total bankruptcy-related expenses could skyrocket to over 250-million dollars before all is said and done.
