Aerosmith has withdrawn from a couple of festival appearances in Shanghai, China and Taipei, Taiwan, with the band saying a local promoter was unable to meet contractual obligations.
The band expressed their frustrations and apologized to their fans in a statement issued on Sunday. The Shanghai appearance was scheduled for Wednesday, and the Taipei appearance for Saturday.
Lead vocalist Steven Tyler summed up the band’s feelings by saying they’re “extremely upset to have disappointed our dedicated fans. They have welcomed us into their country and due to uncontrollable circumstances we will not be able to perform. We were so excited to share our music with them and look forward to one day returning a giving them the show they deserve.”
Guitarist Joe Perry echoed the sentiment, adding, “We’ve looked forward to this for a lifetime.”
