LANSING, MI (WTVB) - A Michigan educator says that getting kids into the kitchen can, in the long run, change the American diet.  Johnny Prep says that sadly over the years Americans have become obsessed with fast foods. Prep says that our bodies aren't equipped to handle a lot of over-processed carbs and that we need more fruits and veggies.

Prep says that one way to change this trend to get kids involved in the kitchen.  He says that if kids help prepare their meals they're much more likely to clean their plates.

Prep says that kids have an incredible influence on one another, so they're uniquely qualified to create change.
