NEW YORK (WKZO) - DE Ezekiel Ansah of Brigham Young is the first round pick of the Detroit Lions. Ansah is 6'6" and 270 pounds, and is expected to bolster a Lions D-line that has promise but needs more depth. Ansah was born in Ghana, and soccer and basketball were his main sports...in fact, he had never heard of American football until his encounter with missionaries from the Mormon Church. Ansah began playing football in 2010 at BYU, and he also tried out for the Cougar basketball team. He ran track for BYU as well, and was a major part of the Cougars' #1 rated red zone defense in 2012. Ansah's nickmane is "Ziggy". For Mid-American Conference football fans, the overall #1 choice was OL Eric Fisher of Central Michigan.
