Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has revealed that he was nervous to induct his musical heroes, Rush , as well as perform with them at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony on Thursday night.

“It's terrifying to play your favorite band's song in front of your favorite band,” he tells Rolling Stone . “It's one thing to sit in the basement and woodshed [Rush’s 1976 release] 2112 , and it’s another to stand in front of Rush in a f**king kimono and a wig and try to play…try to use a wah-wah pedal in your platform shoes. [It] was one of the most special nights of my life.”

While Nirvana will be eligible to get into the Hall of Fame next year, Grohl says that he hopes the powers that be will make the surviving members wait as long as Rush did to get inducted. “They didn't even say [Rush’s] name and the place went f**king crazy,” he notes. “That says it all.  I feel like their fans felt liberated.”
