LANSING (WKZO) -- Life could become a lot tougher for repeat drunk drivers in Michigan, particularly those classified as "super drunk" with blood alcohol levels of 0.17 or higher. A  state House committee will take up legislation to increase the penalties.

A first offense while super drunk would allow a judge to sentence someone to up ten years in prison with a maximum fine of 7,500-dollars. Repeat offenses could bring a maximum sentence of 20 years behind bars.
