DEARBORN (WKZO) -- The first full-production Ford Explorer produced outside the United States has rolled off the assembly line in Russia.
Previously, the only versions of this SUV available were knocked-down versions. That means they were partially assembled in the U.S. and shipped overseas for completion.
Last year, Ford SUV exports increased nearly 65-percent over the previous year. Sales in Russia accounted for 31-percent of that market.
Explorer sales are slated to start in China in the coming weeks.
