LANSING (WKZO) -- Children with autism and other behavioral disorders will covered under MIChild and Medicaid services beginning Tuesday.

The state recently received federal approval of coverage for children from 18-months to five-years-old.  Michigan Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley called it "another step towards improving services for individuals and families with autism."

Last fall, the state mandated coverage from for-profit, commercial, HMO and non-profit health insurance companies.
