Julian Casablancas is hoping to contribute his talents to the silver screen. The Strokes frontman has promised to help create the score for an indie film, provided that the film’s composer, Simon Taufique , can raise enough money for the production. Titled She's Lost Control , the movie is about a woman in New York City named Ronah who “teaches men how to be intimate and make love.”
The film’s director, Anja Marquardt , has posted a video about the production on Kickstarter.com , a website where people can pledge money for creative projects. The fundraiser for the film will end on November 9, with Taufique and Marquardt hoping to raise $50,000 by then. For a $50 pledge, you'll receive a limited edition DVD of the film, a storyboard print of a scene from the movie and an official “thank you” in film’s credits. The incentives become greater the more you pledge, right on up to becoming an associate producer, where you’ll get to hang out with Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Oren Moverman and join the cast and crew for the official wrap party in NYC.
