LANSING (WKZO) -- Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson is accepting the ruling of a federal judge blocking her use of a check box on ballots in November for now.
Johnson told Lansing-based "MIRS News" yesterday she will not appeal, citing the short timeframe until the election. Instead, she plans to take her case to state lawmakers to again pass a bill requiring all voters to declare whether or not they are American citizens.
The bill passed the House and Senate this year, but was vetoed by Governor Snyder.
