Roger Waters puts on quite a theatrical spectacle during the concerts on his The Wall Live Tour, but now he's set to try his hand at some traditional stage acting.  The New York Times reports that the ex- Pink Floyd singer/bassist will be featured in a series of performances of the play The Exonerated at the Culture Project venue in New York City's Greenwich Village.

The Exonerated tells the real-life tales of six people who were convicted of crimes and sentenced to death, only to be set free later when evidence emerged proving them innocent.  The production has featured a rotating cast of celebrities who read the stories of the vindicated prisoners.

Waters will participate in the play's final week of performances before it closes, running from this Tuesday, November 27, through Sunday, December 2.

The Exonerated originally debuted in 2002 and its initial run included more than 600 performances.  The play was revived in September to mark its 10th anniversary.  Besides Waters, other celebrities who have appeared in the production include Lyle Lovett , Brooke Shields , Stockard Channing and Michael McKean of This Is Spinal Tap fame.
