The first death attributable to the firearm deer season here in Michigan has been reported. Authorities say a  54-year-old man from Zeeland suffocated from the fumes of his propane heater while sleeping in his van Wednesday night near Ludington in Mason County.  Police remind hunters not to use any kind of gas or kerosene heaters within closed areas.
