It’s Opening Day of the firearm deer season today. Some have taken their deer early with area police reporting a sharp spike in car/deer accidents the past two weeks.  Others will take to the woods today in search of their prize. The DNR says hunters should expect a successful season despite the EHD outbreak that has killed thousands of deer across mid-Michigan.
