LANSING (WKZO) -- A West Bloomfield man who started fake charities and impersonated veterans groups for his own gain will spend at least the next year and a half in prison.
ttorney General Bill Schuette announced today that 37-year-old Neil Thrasher was sentenced to 17 months to ten years in prison and ordered to pay nearly 75-thousand dollars in restitution. Thrasher pleaded no contest to creating the fake charities.
Restitution will be paid to the Disabled American Veterans and the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
