MT.PLEASANT (WKZO) -- Last week he was a well paid and well respected member of the Central Michigan University staff, a tenured professor doing cutting edge research into internet censorship, but he was also keeping a terrible secret.

This morning he is being held in jail on a half million dollars bond, his job gone and his reputation shattered all because he liked to watch kiddie-porn.

Prof. William Merrill has been formally charged with distributing and possessing child-abusive material and with using a computer to commit a crime. He resigned Monday and was charged Tuesday.
