Soundgarden will hit the road for a headlining tour in 2013 to promote their first album in over 15 years, King Animal , which is due in stores on Tuesday.
The North American trek kicks off on January 18 at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., and includes two-night residencies in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Oakland and their hometown of Seattle, as well as single shows in Boston, Detroit and Portland, among others.
Pre-sale tickets for all the newly-announced shows will be available for Soundgarden fan club members on Monday. Remaining tickets will be available to the general public on Friday, November 16.
In addition, the band has released the new video for “ Been Away Too Long ,” the first single from King Animal . The storyline features a young woman who tries to fight her way out a run-down hospital. While the woman evades a few of her captors and two angry guard dogs, she's eventually killed which she strikes her hand against the carefully-arranged mound of bleached animal skulls that are featured in King Animal ’s cover artwork.
