Sunday marks the opening of the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at MSU. The $45 million project sports an ultra contemporary exterior and dedicates nearly 75 percent of interior space to showcase art. The new museum will serve as a learning experience for students but is also expected to boost the local economy. University officials say the museum should draw up to 125,000 visitors per year which means a $5 million boost to the local economy.
