WASHINGTON (Reuters) - MSNBC projected that President Barack Obama won the swing state of Iowa in Tuesday's presidential election.

Iowa's six electoral votes are a critical pickup for the president in a tight race against his challenger, Republican Mitt Romney, who has campaigned extensively in the Midwestern state.
