LANSING (WKZO) -- The number of infections in Michigan linked to a tainted steroid continues to climb.
Michigan public health officials say 119 cases have been linked to tainted steroid injections that patients received for back pain. Of the 119 cases, 61 were fungal meningitis and six of those patients have died.
According to officials, the injections were given in early October in Michigan, prior to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identifying the source of the meningitis.
