For the first time ever, Petty Fest is coming to Los Angeles. According to the event’s producers, The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney along with guitarist Nick Valensi and drummer Fabrizio Moretti of The Strokes are set to perform at the charity event -- which will raise money for those affected by Hurricane Sandy –- on November 14-15 at the El Rey Theater. Other artists expected to take the stage include former Guns N’ Roses drummer Matt Sorum , Guster ’s Ryan Miller and Butch Walker , plus many more.
The long-running Petty Fest, which began in New York City, traditionally features a number of artists performing music from legendary singer Tom Petty ’s extensive catalog. The sixth annual New York version of the event, which took place last month, raised more than $15,000 for Sweet Relief Musicians Fund, a charity organization that provides financial assistance to musicians facing illness or disability.
