Levels expected to remain low on Great Lakes

DETROIT (WKZO) -- The latest report from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers continues to show a decline in water levels on the Great Lakes for 2013.

The forecast predicts that Lake Michigan and Lake Huron will be near their all-time record low levels set back in 1964.  Lake Superior will be a bit better but still within five to eight inches of its record level that dates back to 1925.

Low water levels this year forced an early end to recreational boating and forced shipping lines to reduce cargo on freighters.
