DETROIT (WKZO) -- A new poll shows that Michigan residents are more positive about the state's economy.

The poll, conducted last week by EPIC-MRA of Lansing, shows that 62-percent of the state's residents believe the economy has bottomed out and is now improving.  That's a sharp turnaround from last year when just 39-percent of residents thought the economy was improving.

How Michigan residents view the state's economy is likely to influence their vote in the presidential election.  According to the poll, 61-percent of likely voters who believe the state's economy is improving, plan to vote for President Obama.
