A scene Green Day ’s Billie Joe Armstrong shot for the new movie This Is 40 was left on the cutting room by writer/director Judd Apatow . But now Apatow has posted the clip online.
In the scene Armstrong meets with a record label owner played by Paul Rudd to pitch a side project so un-commercial and violent he doesn't even want his name attached to it. "My biggest frustration about my career is that I actually sell too many records," he says in the scene. "So I'm trying to change that by doing this side project. I kinda want it to sound like two radios going off at the same time in a white supremacist's car."
He also says he'd like to mix the sound of "Norwegian death metal" with the sound of Belle and Sebastian . "It's sort of music that you can cry to but also maybe burn a church down at the same time," he says.
