HOLLAND (WHTC) - A 30-year-old man is expected to be arraigned Wednesday after leading police on a high-speed chase through Zeeland and Holland Christmas Eve. The incident started about 4:15 p.m. when Zeeland police tried to stop the driver for a traffic violation on Chicago Drive near 120th Avenue. The driver fled west on Chicago Drive, touching off a pursuit into Holland. The chase went through Holland’s central-city neighborhoods. At one point, the suspect vehicle struck another car at 16th Street and Columbia, after which he kept on going. The suspect lost control of his car near 17th Street and Harrison Avenue, striking a tree. He then tried to flee on foot, but was arrested in the area of 21st Street and Cleveland Avenue. The suspect faces charges of driving with a suspended license and felony fleeing and eluding. Police say he was wanted for absconding parole as well as a bench warrant from another city.
