UNDATED (WKZO) -- All this last minute rushing around for the Holidays is stressful, a pain in the backside with long lines, traffic jams and it can be frustrating if you can’t find that gift on your list....but who knew it could be dangerous.
Dr. Kim Gladden says there’s walking, sometimes on slippery surfaces, there can be heavy lifting involved. Lifting and twisting is very bad but more often than not that’s the motion required to load cars. She suggests getting it as close as possible and lifting it straight up, and use your knees.
She says using a back pack may be one way to tote your purchases around. Just wait until after you pay for them before you start loading them into the pack. .
Emergency Room Doctor Howard Mell says Christmas can give otherwise healthy people what they call “Holiday Heart Syndrome”. Folks develop an irregular heartbeat because of the irregular things we do this time of year: irregular stress, irregular sleeping habits, irregular diet.
He says it can even result in a Heart attack in severe cases.
