LANSING (WKZO) -- The Michigan House and Senate also approved Kelsey’s law, which bans the use of cellphones by teens still driving under graduated drivers licenses.  The measure seeks to implement a ban on any use at all, including texting or talking, until they have earned their unconditional drivers license.

The law is named for a teenaged girl in Sault Ste. Marie who died when her car was crushed by a truck while she was using her cell phone.  The measure is headed for Governor Rick Snyder’s desk in a flood of last minute legislation approved by the Michigan legislature.
