YPSILANTI (WKZO) -- An Eastern Michigan University student who was expelled from the school's master's degree program in counseling has agreed to a settlement with the university. Julea Ward was tossed from the school when, because of her religious beliefs, she refused to counsel a gay client.
As part of a settlement agreed upon thiis week, Ward will receive 75-thousand dollars from EMU. The school must also remove the expulsion from Ward's record.
