LANSING (WKZO) -- Lawmakers won’t be back in Lansing until Tuesday, but that didn’t keep groups from protesting in Lansing Monday.

The Michigan Nurses Association held a silent protest on the Capitol Steps with their mouths taped shut. Katie Oppenheim says the Union is their strong voice in the work place that allows them to advocate for patients against corporations that only are interested in profit.

She says the union is their strong voice and when they can't advocate for better patient care, patients get hurt.

She says they plan to be there again tomorrow.   They say the Governor will do irreparable damage to the state if he signs the Right to Work Legislation.
