MOUNT CLEMENS (WKZO) -- Drugs are believed to have lead to a fatal crash in northern Michigan last year.
According to a report by the National Transportation Safety Board, a Macomb County businessman had numerous drugs in his system when the helicopter he was piloting crashed in Alcona County. 46-year-old Dan Logghe of Richmond Township, and 33-year-old Mark May of Sterling Heights, were killed in the crash.
Authorities say that while drugs played a role, they were not likely the cause of the accident. Officials blamed low clouds and rain as the main factors in the crash.
