LANSING (WKZO) -- The state Senate has passed legislation that would require women who buy insurance from state health care exchanges to purchase separate riders to pay for elective abortions.
Megan Groen with Planned Parenthood of Michigan opposes the measure. "Some people may not like it," says Groen, "but it's a safe, constitutionally protected procedure in this country, and it should be covered."
The bill now goes to the House.
