DETROIT (WKZO) -- Detroit officials are bracing for the start of a state review that could lead to the appointment of an emergency financial manager. State Treasurer Andy Dillon met with the mayor's staff and city council members this week about a lack of progress towards solving short and long-term financial shortfalls.
An EFM appointment could happen by February after reviews by the treasurer's office, although city council is scheduled to vote next week on budget restructuring elements.
