OTSEGO (WKZO) -- He died helping others. The Otsego Fire Department is reporting on it’s facebook page that Capt. Steve Stevenson, who traveled east to work on the emergency relief efforts following Hurricane Sandy, has now become its latest victim.
The 52-year-old reportedly had a heart issue, underwent 13-hours of surgery in New York and did not survive.
The notation called him “a brilliant Officer, a great Instructor, a genius of a Paramedic and the best friend anyone could ask for.”
He had been due to return home yesterday. He leaves behind a wife and a daughter.
