Coldplay gave fans a scare recently when frontman Chris Martin hinted that the band might be going on a partial hiatus after they finish up the final leg of their Mylo Xyloto tour.   Billboard.com reports that on November 21, Martin announced to the crowd at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium in Australia, “This is the last big show for three years or so."

Speaking to British paper The Daily Star , the singer clarified his statement, explaining that he was only referring to the band’s future touring plans for Australia. “This three-year break idea only came about because I said at a gig in Australia that we might not be back there for three years,” Martin tells the paper. “That’s probably true, but that’s just how a world tour works. No chance are we taking a three-year break.”

Martin adds that the band is still active, and that he’s already working on material for the group’s sixth studio album. “I’ve been writing songs and I’m so fired up about the band’s future,” he reveals. “I’m fortunate to do what I do and no way do I want to stop.”
