DAYTON (WLMI) A bases-loaded, seventh-inning walk by Shawn Griffith to Ryan Wright pushed across the decisive run in the Dayton Dragons’ (14-23, 44-63) 5-4 series-opening victory over the Lansing Lugnuts’ (23-14, 70-36) on Tuesday night at Fifth Third Field.

With the win, the Dragons ended the Lugnuts’ four-game winning streak and beat Lansing for the first time in eleven tries.

Chris Peters added three hits, including a triple and two runs scored.

Aaron Munoz threw out three Dragons base stealers in the first two innings.

Lugnuts starter Noah Syndergaard allowed a career-high seven hits in 4 2/3 innings while striking out four and walking none.

Dragons starter James Allen struck out a career-high seven batters and walked one in six innings, while allowing three runs on seven hits.
