GWAR says goodbye to Oderus Urungus in appropriate fashion and debuts new singer

by Otto Man

GWAR frontman Dave Brockie, AKA Oderus Urungus, was sent off in a blaze of glory as his fans and bandmates paid their respects with a Viking Funeral last Friday. The ceremony took place as the kick off to the annual Gwar-B-Q in Richmond, Virginia. In accordance with ancient Norse custom, Oderus, in the form of Brockie's stage costume, was laid out on a boat filled with offerings, launched into the water and set on fire with a flaming arrow. (beware some NSFW language in the following!)

The ceremony also featured a speech from Lamb of Gods Randy Blythe and and appearance from Dead Kennedys legend Jello Biafra.

GWAR then closed the festival with a show featuring new vocalist Blothar. (obviously a whole lot of NSFW language in the following)
