AC/DCs plans to record a new album will apparently continue to move forward. Fan site ACDCfans.net reported that the band has chosen Brendan OBrien to act as producer for the project. The super producer was last used by the band to oversee their 2008 Black Ice album. Additional reports say the bands gear has arrived at the Warehouse Studio in Vancouver where the band will be working from May through July. Though an official timeline has not been revealed for the new album, it is tentatively expected to arrive before the end of the year.
As far as whod be taking over for Malcolm Young, after widespread reports last month that he was stepping down from due to an undisclosed illness, there are rumors of the band enlisted having Stevie Young, the nephew of Angus and Malcolm.According to The Pulse Of Radio, a fan named Jeff Lorenz posted a photo that he took of the band in Vancouver, where they are recording, saying that Stevie was visible in the picture. The photo has since been removed.
Stevie Young previously played with AC/DC once before in 1988, while Malcolm was dealing with alcohol dependency. There is no confirmation from the band on that.
Heres video of Stevie playing with the band on that tour.
