This girl was disqualified because she has a secret. A secret that got her kicked out of the Miss Canada contest.
Mind you, she wasn't kicked out at the beginning. Only when she became a finalist. What did this woman do that got her kicked out?
Well...she got her genitals switched. From a man's. Cuz she was born a boy.
WWTDD.com make a good point in stating that she's actually too young to compete because though she's 23 years old, she's only been a girl for four of them. And last I checked toddlers couldn't compete in Miss Canada contests. Yet.
The Miss Canada officials, however, believe that because she wasn't born with a vagina that she's inelligible for competition.
Philosophically, this makes me ask a bunch of questions:
1. If surgery is the only difference, then what about the rhinoplasty, liposuctioned, breast augmented competitors? Technically, they weren't born with those parts either.
2. Why wait until she was a finalist? Kinda rough to wait so late.
3. Some of her competitors look suspiciously un-female too. We doing checks on them?
Honestly, it doesn't matter though. This woman's name is Jenna Taleckova and she will, undoubtedly, make the rounds on Oprah's channel, the Ellen show, a couple of late night shows, and any number of other opportunities.
And long after the winner of Miss Canada is crowned, Jenna Taleckova's name will have received infinitely more press coverage.
