When I found out Kwame Kilpatrick used nearly $1 million in campaign funds to defend himself in court, I wasn't mad. I felt sorry. Sorry for all the people that donated to his campain war chest.

Frankly, the ruling makes sense. If the money is to be given to him for the purpose of governance, then he can use it however he feels he wants to. As governance is based upon his will the money he's given ought be used in accordance with his will as well.

Knowing that though, I'll be even more hesitant to give money to any politician. If they screw up, I want their ass in jail. On a hard bed. On a diet of bread, water, and vitamins.
