These are the movies released in theaters Friday January 18th, 2013
Broken City - Rated R
Russell Crowe pays Mark Wahlberg to follow his wife around. Mark ends up in a huge political conspiracy. Mark Wahlberg can not make an un-entertaining movie (We don't consider The Happening a movie). I have enjoyed the former Marky Mark in just about everything. That being said, Broken City looks like it could try to be too smart. It might try to do too many plot twists.
Verdict - This should be passable but forgettable
The Last Stand - Rated R
Arnold Schwarzenegger is a small town sheriff defending his town against Mexican drug lords. Is this the first time Arney has played an actual cop? Its great to see Arnold back on the big screen. This is a mix of action and comedy that Schwarzenegger can play in his sleep. But will America care that Arnold is back?
Verdict - I am looking forward to this but will not get to this until it is released on DVD.
Mama - Rated PG-13
Two girls are found by their uncle in a a remote cabin left alone after their parents die. Well they might not actually be alone because there is this ghost name Mama with them. This horror movie has a fresh idea (eh sort of). However Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth) has produced this movie. Thats enough for me to want to run out and see this.
Verdict - Lets hope Horror’s 2013 starts off with a bang.

Taken 2 - Rated PG-13
Liam Neeson kicks ass AGAIN. I thought that Taken 2 took out some of the believability that made Taken so good. There is a ton of action scenes from Maggie Grace that do not make much sense once you start thinking about them.
Next week LA Cops on DVD, Witch hunting, and Q106’s DJ Parker’s Bio Pic.
