This week weird vampires, dead dogs, and Liam Neeson beats everybody up.
These are the movies released in theaters Friday October 5th, 2012.
Frankenwennie - Rated PG
In a remake of a short film by Tim Burton, Victor loses his dog Sparky. So in grand fashion the dog is resurrected and the fun begins. Out of all the “horror” children’s films that came out this year, Frankenwennie should be the best. I could give you actual scares. Tim Burton might make this too adult for the mainstream movie going audience but it will not stop me.
Verdict - A great Halloween for your kids over the age of 9. I have heard this is a bit scary.
Pitch Perfect - Rated PG-13
In this movie musical, A young girl wants to become a radio DJ (I could teach her) but her father makes her go to college and she ends up in a singing group. So is this a dance movie minus the dancing? I would just say “THIS SUCKS” and move on but the cast does have Brittany Snow, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Elizabeth Banks, and John Michael Higgins in it’s supporting cast. So it can’t completely suck.
Verdict - Pitch Perfect is a perfect movie if you like Glee. I LOATHE GLEE.
Taken 2 - Rated PG-13
I told you not to piss off Liam Neeson. But did you listen to me. NO!. Neeson’s entire family is being targeted as revenge for everybody he killed in the first movie. Taken was such a great action movie. I have no clue why they would think to make a sequel. If it is half as good as the original I will be happy. Taken had heart and you could sympathise with Neeson. I don’t think that kind of emotional attachment will be found in the sequel.
Verdict - I expect a good action film but any where near the quality of the original.
