Mac D's Weekend Movie Guide (11/16/12)

Posted by Mac D on

I was able to check out James Bond’s latest Skyfall this past weekend.  Skyfall is the best bond in twenty plus years.  Daniel Craig is amazing as always however the reason this movie is so great is Javier Bardem.  Craig’s Bond has been missing a classic over the top villain.  Bardem is that and better.  I hope he had fun in this role, I had fun watching him.  Judi Dench’s M plays a large part in the film and in my enjoyment in Skyfall.  Overall I loved this - 9/10

These are the movies released in theaters Friday November 16th, 2012.
LincolnRated PG-13
Lincoln
See the life of the 16the president of the United State’s life interpreted by Daniel Day Lewis and Steven Spielberg.  This is one of the long running dream projects of Steven Spielberg.  That right there makes me interested but he was able to get one of the greatest actors of our generation Daniel Day Lewis to play the lead.  This has 10 Oscars written all over it.

Verdict - I never pictured Honest Abe as a screamer but I can’t picture Daniel Day Lewis not screaming.  I am very interested in Lincoln.

The SessionsRated R
The Sessions
A young man with an iron lung checks with his priest, William H Macy, and decides to go see Sex Surrogate Helen Hunt.  A sex surrogate is a therapist that might have sex with you.  I probably should not watching Frasier reruns while writing this.  And yeah this is based on a true story.  This story is weird, and I like it.  Helen Hunt can act so it should be enjoyable.

Verdict - This might be good but I wonder if I should go see help?

Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2Rated PG-13
Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2
This is what I think about the Twilight Saga and everything associated with it.

I hate Twilight

Movie – Rating – Weekend Domestic Gross (Total Domestic Gross

Skyfall is the top grossing Bond film ever and the 4th greatest opening gross of 2012 (behind the Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, and The Hunger Games).  I expect a sequel quickly.  I am also in amazement with Taken 2 who just keeps on making money.  There won’t be a sequel but Liam Neeson can keep on making action films.

The WatchRated R
The Watch
Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, and Jonah Hill are the neighborhood watch who battles aliens.  My neighborhood watch is just filled with old people.

Next week old men fire automatic weapons, a great story of a boy and his tiger, and North Koreans take over Washington,  some one should stop them.   How about THE WOLVERINES WOLVERINES!
