As a complete shock to me there are other movies besides the Avengers. This week Sacha Baron Cohen plays a Dictator, a movie based on a Board Game, and being pregnant is funny when you're Chris Rock

The Dictator – Rated R
From the guys who brought you Borat and Bruno, Sacha Baron Cohen plays a North African dictator who is mixed up in a assassination/ over through plot. The difference between The Dictator and Borat is that The Dictator is actually scripted. Baron Cohen was excellent in Sweeny Todd, Talladega Nights, and Hugo so I am interested in him playing a character of his own but in a completely scripted situation. I think the humor will cross several lines but will everything come together to create an enjoyable experience?
Verdict – Based on subpar box office returns so far The Dictator will not set cinemas a fire like Borat did but not thing will kill my curiosity about this movie.

Battleship – Rated PG-13
It’s the Navy vs Aliens with Liam Neeson as an Admiral and Rihanna, based on the Hasbro game. THIS MOVIE DOES NOTHING FOR ME. You would think I would be upset about a movie based on a board game, but you would be wrong. Battleship Movie? Sure make it. But don’t use aliens. You could make a cool Hunt For Red October type movie out of Battleship and I would be all over it. But the Nave vs Aliens? WHY! I hope Peter Berg (Director of Hancock and The Kingdom) can make this premise work but I am not going to rush out to see.
Verdict – I can’t get over the ridiculous premise. With MIB 3 in the horizon I will wait to get my alien action film.
What to Expect When You’re Expecting – Rated PG-13
An all-star cast takes at look at the childbirth processes. Cast includes Chris Rock, Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Elizabeth Banks, and Dennis Quaid. This seems like other movies like New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day. No matter how good your cast is if you have too many storylines people are going to get confused.
Verdict – Pass even though the cast looks strong
Box Office Top 5 Movies In The Country
1. The Avengers - Rated PG-13
2. Dark Shadows - Rated PG-13
3. Think Like A Man – Rated PG-13
4. The Hunger Games – Rated PG-13
5. The Lucky One – Rated PG-13
The Avengers destroy another record having the highest grossing 2nd week ever. It is the fast to hit every milestone known to man and looks to make $500 Million domestically and has already topped a Billion worldwide. I hope Disney sees the dollar signs and makes a new Hulk and S.H.E.I.L.D. movie. Dark Shadows did adequately for a Tim Burton/ Johnny Depp movie. It out grossed Sweeny Todd but doesn’t even make up half of what Alice In Wonderland or Charlie In The Chocolate Factory did.

The Grey – Rated R
Liam Neeson vs Wolves. Neeson does really well in action films and this one is no different.
Chronicle – Rated PG-13
Three rowdy teens gain superpowers from a glowing rock and one of them ends up using his powers for evil. This Documentary style sci fi film set theaters ablaze when it was released in February. I didn’t get a chance to see but I want to watch this now.
Albert Nobbs – Rated R
Glenn Close is in drag due to harsh working environment. The plot may be confusing but Glenn Close shows why she is one of the best actresses working today.

Next week Captain Kirk and Bane fight over a woman, a visit to a Nuclear Power Plant in Russia, and the return of the Men in Black.
