This week Snow White, Liam Neeson as Zeus, and some great dramas on DVD.
These are the movies that will be released on Friday, March 30th, 2012
Mirror Mirror - Rated PG
The story of Snow White is retold with Julia Roberts as the evil Queen and Lily Colins as Snow White. Instead of taking a gigantic new spin on the classic tale this story is going to focus on the Queen and still be a light hearted family film. I do think Julia Roberts will be good but that will be the only bright spot.
Verdict – If I wanted to see a children's version of Snow White I would just watch the classic 1937 animated film
Wrath Of The Titans – Rated PG-13
Sam Worthington returns as Perseus as he fights against some Titans to free his father Zeus (Liam Neeson). I saw Clash Of The Titans and was not impressed. While visually stunning the acting was so so and the plot seemed to go from one action sequence to another without trying to make much sense. I expect the same things though it seems to me that I am much harsher to Clash then other people.
Verdict - I would like to see this on IMAX as it will look awesome but sure I am not going to try hard.
Friends with Kids
Box Office Top 5 Movies In The Country
1. The Hunger Games – Rated PG-13
2. 21 Jump Street – Rated R
3. Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax – Rated PG
4. John Carter – Rated PG-13
5. Act Of Valor – Rated R
The Hunger Games made $152 million last week, which is third most all time behind The Deadly Hollows Part 2 and The Dark Knight. So the rest of the books have been green lit. I suppose. I am only surprised that The Hunger Games did this in March. What would have this film in July? The box office crown for 2012 is interesting. Will The Dark Knight Rises win? Will Hunger Games double what it has already made.? I don’t know but it will be fun to find out.
Still In Theatres

These are the movies released on DVD Tuesday March, 27th 2012
Alvin And The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked – Rated G
Oh joy a Chipmunk movie. This movie only grossed $132 million which is about half of the other movies. Hopefully these films will stop but probably not.
A Dangerous Method – Rated R
Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortensen stars as Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud in a movie about the beginning of Psychology. Sounds good but I will only know what's going on and what is being said because I am a huge fan of the TV Fraiser.
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close – Rated PG-13
Max von Sydow won an academy award for best supporting actor for this movie about a child dealing with the loss of his father during 9/11. Plus it has Tom Hanks so I am sold.
Next Week another piece of American Pie, another best picture nominee on DVD, and another needless rerelease.
